Inside the Experience
Tommy’s Drive Thru, nestled on North San Jacinto Street in Hemet, California, is an unpretentious gem that delivers flavorsome comfort food with sincerity. From the moment you pull up, the warmth of the staff is palpable—friendly faces behind the window create an inviting atmosphere that complements the straightforward, hearty menu.
The double cheeseburger combo is a standout, boasting a juicy, well-seasoned patty paired with a generous heap of jumbo fries. Despite the modest, aging façade and a menu that could use some sprucing up, the quality of the food proves that substance trumps style here. Each bite of the burger reveals a crafted balance of melted cheese and fresh ingredients, making it worth every penny spent.
For those seeking something vibrant, Tommy’s Greek salad and Gyro are a revelation. The salad arrives loaded with crisp greens, ripe tomatoes, bell peppers, olives, boiled eggs, and creamy feta cheese, all accompanied by warm pita bread. The Gyro meat is richly seasoned and tender, capturing the essence of Mediterranean flavors without pretense. Such dishes reflect the care put into fresh, bold ingredients that awaken the palate.
Another highlight is the Philly sandwich, a generous portion of tender steak mingling with sautéed green peppers, onions, and mushrooms, all hugged by melted cheese and a soft roll. The sandwich delivers in both size and taste, proving Tommy’s ability to craft satisfying meals that go beyond typical drive-thru fare.
In sum, Tommy’s Drive Thru excels in offering hearty, flavor-packed dishes in a friendly, approachable setting. While the surroundings hint at years past, the food consistently brings freshness and satisfaction, making it a worthy stop for anyone craving honest, comforting meals.
“ I went through the drive through and ordered a double cheeseburger combo. The building is older and needs a LOT of help, so does the menu. The lady taking the order was very sweet and served us with a big smile, which is nice to see. The hamburger was amazing and they give you a ton of jumbo fries. It was definitely worth the $12. ”
“ I absolutely love Tommy’s Greek salad and Gyro. They are packed with flavor and fresh and crisp greens. The salad is a monster and has tons of bell peppers, tomatoes, boiled eggs, olives and feta cheese. On the side they served warm pita bread. The Gyro is my favorite, the meat is very flavorful. Don’t sleep on this unassuming drive through. The people are warm and friendly. ”
